I'm writing this review to counter all of the negative reviews given. I purchased these pedestals the summer of 2020. Due to COVID they were delivered and installed in April 2021.
I loved them! The color was magnificent and they gave me the laundromat feel. In the 3 years that I have used them, I have never had a problem. They are extra roomy, allowing me to put large bottles of laundry supplies in them. For someone with limited space, this was excellent!

After reading several reviews, it looks like other people are experiencing the same issues with the storage pedestal door. My washer/dryer/pedestals set was delivered over two weeks ago, and I just discovered that one pedestal's door is broken on the left side. The screws that would attach to the door's plastic/low quality faceplate can't attach because the screw holes on the plastic are broken off. The faceplate is hanging on by only the two screws on the ride side which are fine... for now. I don't see that there are replacement door face plates being sold. Furthermore, one pedestal did not have a divider. I don't know if the installers forgot to put it on and accidentally threw it away. I bought these from Costco and contacted them. I'm waiting for resolution, but I'm definitely disappointed that these came broken.

We purchased a set of these when we purchased our new washer and dryer. Once of the drawers was broken when the installers set them up. They ordered a whole new unit and replaced the drawer. About 2 months ago, the other one broke. I attempted to fix the drawer front, but it is made so cheaply that their is barely anything for the screw to hold on to. Really poor design of holding the front face to the drawer.

Just received our new washer/dryer set with pedestals. First, Lowe's has been awesome to switch out our pedestals. Now the pedestals, probably not worth the $299 price. I should have read the reviews to make a better buying decision. We are having the same issues that others have posted. We only had the pedestals for 2 days and the front of one has pulled off and the drawer's sliding bracket broke off on the other. The drawer fronts/sides are all plastic, not like our previous all metal Whirlpool pedestals which we had for over 17 years with no issues. We are worried these pedestals won't hold the weight of the washer/dryer. At least the perception is these pedestals aren't very strong. One positive, these pedestals seem to have more drawer space than our last brand.
We shall see how the replacement pedestals hold up. Maybe we will update later.

The pedestal is largely ornamental. The drawers carry the weight of towels, and other light loads. However, do not dare to put laundry detergent or other heavier normal laundry supply items in them. The drawer slides cannot carry the weight, and the ball bearings release, making the drawer useless. The drawer function should carry a warning, or sticker on the weight capacity.
Are there higher rated slides available for this drawer?

The cover on the dryer drawer broke off in less than one month. The metal also bends easily and doesn™™t seem to hold the weight of the appliance. Not to mention I had to return a drawer because it came bent up and they would not simply exchange it. I had to wait two weeks for a refund and had to reorder it. I would not recommend. For this price and the low quality, I would have much rather went with a different pedestal option. Unfortunately, I had one pedestal installed and was stuck getting the other.

Really Poor Quality Drawer Slides

We bought two pedestals, one for the washer, one for the dryer. I am only giving this 2 stars because the dryer drawer slides still work. The drawers on these pedestals need a higher weight capacity. The drawer slide on the washer pedestal lost it's ball bearings after 2 or 3 times of being opened. The drawer wasn't nearly at capacity but failed. Very difficult to find a replacement slide. The original slides (Segos) are manufactured in Korea and the website to order a replacement is garbage.

I was so excited to use this pedestal with my new GE Washer and Dryer. I ordered two. One of them is perfect, but the other one is missing the brackets and hardware, so we can't mount the machine to it. So disappointed! And now the store where I purchased it from won't pick it up for a return, or even provide me with the necessary brackets and hardware. Ridiculous!

I've had issues with the pedestal since it was delivered with my washer and dryer set. It always seemed to be stuck towards the middle and I'd have to give it a good hard yank in order to pull it completely open. When I actually filled it up with products, silly me, I thought that was what it was used for, it got worse. Now little silver beads are popping off on the left side whenever I try to open the drawer. I am going to guess that's not a good a good sign. I love GE and have replaced all our dishwasher, microwave, stove, and washer/dryer set with brand new GE products. We will be replacing our fridge soon as well, but these were a total bust, and will be deemed useless soon. Apparently, GE knew it was crap so it's not covered in warranty. They'd lose a lot of money replacing all these if it were.

The delivery people who came to install our brand new GE GFW850SPNRS washer and GE GFD85ESPNRS dryer (we are very happy with both) started to prepare installation of the pedestal when low and behold the front face of the pedestal was hanging by a thread. - the plastic screw holes that are held by 4 screws were all broken. We had purchased two and 1 of them came defective out of box. I am hoping GE is able to send a replacement pedestal front cover or a brand new unit. When you pay this premium price you would expect an undamaged product.
